Automated Trading Championship 2011 Has Started!

Today is October 3, 2011 and Automated Trading Championship 2011 has started. Completed are all the preparatory steps: all Expert Advisors of Championship participants have been finally checked and approved. This year 395 trading robots will fight for the 80,000 US dollars prize.

Top three places in terms of EAs allowed to the competition this year are shared by Russia (32,8%), Ukraine (9,5%) and China (5,3%). The United States of America were on the third place last year. Now this country has descended to the seventh place sharing it with Indonesia. Nine EAs from Italy have surprisingly emerged in our top ten! By this criterion the Italians will be competing on equal terms with representatives of Bulgaria, while yielding one place to Japan.

Traditionally this year we will see EAs from Belarus among the challengers. What lessons have been learnt by this country representatives from the last year's furore? Also the more considerable share is gained by EAs from Germany comparing to the previous Championships. The numbers of participants by country is available in the attached file.

After comparing these data with number of EAs registered for the Championship and analyzing results of EAs' manual checking the following conclusions are springing to mind: Indonesia has dropped from 2nd to 6th place, while India had completely fall out of top ten (the same can be said about Malaysia, Iran, Vietnam and Poland)! Such shifts in statistics once again remind that for one it is not enough to successfully register and pass automatic checks to get a real chances of success. As always we encourage EA authors to adhere to the Championship Rules and not to tempt fate by multiple registrations.

Having to add that once again this year a lot of potentially interesting Expert Advisors have not been allowed for the competition. Sadly, many brilliant authors can't prove their talent due to unfortunate lack of attention and carelessness in filling out their personal data. Many delayed sending their Expert Advisors and at the end simply had no time to fix errors. But, as they say - too late a week!
