Item III - number 7 of rules -  Expert Advisors may contain limitation on their usage outside the Championship, but must satisfy the following demands:

....

  • Never use scalping: if the profits of 25% of trades, made by the end of the contest, are detected to range within the spread, the Participant will be disqualified

I read the rules and did not Understand about the scalping!

when an EA is Considered scalp?
which is the time limit  so into to EA exit the trade?

What's difficult to understand here?

SCALPING = if the profits of 25% of trades (...) are detected to range within the spread

On below page you can see official ATC 2012 spreads for all 12 allowed currency pairs:

http://championship.mql5.com/2011/en/rules/specifications

So for example, if your EA trades on EURUSD and it makes 12 deals and at least 3 out these 12 deals (>=25% of all deals) have profit <=2o pips, then your EA is considered as a scalper and disqualified.

Hi, Enigma71fx, what is unclear to novices is the diminutive 'o' in 2o pips. Guessing I don't believe it is 20 but 2 with the possibility of having 1 significant decimal place after the 2. However I may be completely wrong. I think the confusion may arise because price quotations in currencies with rates less than $9.9 per currency unit such as Euro or Cable(GBP) are now quoted to 5 significant figures as for GBP/USD now @ 1.58197 dollars per Great British Pound. Am I right to assume that 1 pip is or was 0.0001 dollars when the base currency is a dollar? If the spread is 3 pips then it would be against the rules to have the following sequence of trades in pips: 20.5,2.8,-25.5(loss),2.5,-13.6(loss),1.4,-2.3(loss),45.6,2.6,-1.5(loss),36.7,3.6 Here we have twelve trades with four losses and four gains over 3 pips but also four evident gains of less than 3 pips. With 33% 25% is exceeded and according to my understanding of the rules disqualified. As an Englishman who studied Russian at school I am not happy with the method of translation and would hope that it was an Englishman, Australian or American (somebody with mother tongue of English) who helped draw up the rules and if not did the actual translation. Anyone can help to clarify for the below:

Can I change the EA after I submitted to Metaquote?

How long can I know my EA pass the testing or if fail can I change and submit again?

The rule 7:

Make a minimum of 5 non-demo trades in the first 8 months of testing (2012.01.01 - 2012.09.01) and in the 3 months of the contest

Do I need to prove 5 trades were done from 1.1 to 9.1? How do I prove?

Is that mean if no real MT5 account, can not attend this competition?

You should start with reading News of previous championship. For example Automatic Tests of Expert Advisors Have Started

We will publish new materials too, of course.

If this is like the last year then no, you don't need to prove anything to anyone having a real account. When you submit your EA it gets tested by an automated tester platform with the first 8 months. Within these 8 months your EA must make at least 5 trades to actually prove it does something and does it profitable.

You can change your EA after you submitted it (only if you do it within the valid dates, 4 june - late september), that's the idea of the tester platform, you'll have chances to fix undetected errors or discover things you weren't aware of (excesive time, memory or resources).

You'll have your automated test results in a couple of hours. Can't be specific on this one as the tester is run a few times a day but give it 12 hours max. If you fail, then yes, you discover your bug, fix it and submit again. Don't abuse the tester platform, use your own PC to develop and test your EA, submit only when you have a milestone and you're sure you have a final stable version.

As Rosh mention, i suggest reading the last year doc regarding the submition and automated testing: http://championship.mql5.com/2011/en/news/82
