The autumn is coming and the new season of trading robots challenge is near at hand already. That is the sixth Automated Trading Championship and many of you are already familiar with it. But this time we expect that the ranks of participants will be considerably replenished by the newcomers ready to show their skills in programming of trading strategies. The popularity of MetaTrader 5 and MQL5 is growing steadily and MQL5.community gradually turns into a huge social network of thousands of traders around the world.
The Technical Side of the Automated Trading Championship
The Automated Trading Championship 2012 is already the third Championship performed with the use of the MetaTrader 5 platform. Two years have already passed since its official release. The terminal's stability has considerably increased and the functionality of MQL5 trading robots programming language has been improved. Now, it allows to develop any solutions.
The equipment for the competition is provided by the Organizer - MetaQuotes Software Corp. Every year we rent heavy-duty servers to conduct the Championships. A special version of the client terminal is installed on them. It is optimized for the launch and operation of trading robots submitted by the Championship participants.
The Jury of the Automated Trading Championship
The Championship is closely monitored by the contest Jury board and the Championship organizers. The competition events will traditionally be followed by numerous interviews with the authors of the most interesting Expert Advisors, news at the end of each week, various statistical reports and other interesting materials.
Registration for the Automated Trading Championship
The registration for the Championship has started in June 4, 2012. Anyone can apply for participation before September 21. To take part in the Championship, each candidate must correctly indicate his/her personal data and submit an Expert Advisor that satisfies the Championship Rules.
Each submitted Expert Advisor will be automatically tested in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester on the eight-month historical data interval.
Considering past experience, we ask all the participants to fill in personal data carefully during the registration. Please note that you will not be allowed to enter the great battle of trading robots in case of errors or incomplete personal data. We also do not recommend to held off submission of your Expert Advisor until the last days. You can not have enough time to fix your Expert Advisor operation errors detected during the automatic tests before the registration end.
Resource Efficiency during the Automated Trading Championship
One of the Expert Advisor participation conditions is its modesty in resources consumption. Several copies of the trading terminal, as well as Expert Advisors, are launched simultaneously on each server rented for the Championship. If any of the Expert Advisors interferes with other trading robots operation by consuming too much server resources or generating gigabytes of logs, it will be disqualified.
Automated Trading Championship and the Wizard
MetaTrader 5 contains the powerful tool - the MQL5 Wizard. It allows to create trading robots without having programming skills. You just need to launch it from MetaEditor and select necessary Expert Advisor components - trading signals, money management and trailing stop modules. MQL5 Wizard will generate the code of your Expert Advisor according to the specified parameters. After that, you can optimize it in MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester and submit for the Automated Trading Championship.
Participants of the Automated Trading Championship
Within three months (from October 1 to December 28, 2012) Expert Advisors will autonomously trade on Forex using 12 available currency pairs. Neither the participants, nor the Jury members will be able to interfere with the trading process. The most profitable Expert Advisor will be declared the winner, get an impressive prize and public recognition. During the Championship we will be able to evaluate the skills of trading robots developers. Each participant's profile will contain information on the full trading history and various statistical parameters concerning an Expert Advisor operation.
The Prize of the Automated Trading Championship
The winners of the Championship will get $40 000, $25 000 and $15 000 from our sponsors for the first, second and third place, respectively. Besides, some additional prizes have been established during the last two competitions. And it is quite possible that the sponsors of the Automated Trading Championship 2012 will prepare some pleasant surprises again.
